CONGRESSMAN RUBÉN HINOJOSA TO RECEIVE "SMALL BUSINESS COMMUNITY CHAMPION AWARD" AT THE WOMEN'S BUSINESS SUMMIT

Congressman Rubén Hinojosa (D-TX-15) will be presented with the "Small Business Community Champion Award" at the Women's Business Summit at 12:00 noon -  2:00 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2012 at the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance, 118 Paseo Del Prado in Edinburg, Texas. 

"I am extremely honored to have been chosen for this prestigious award from such a great group of business women," said Congressman Hinojosa. "I want to especially thank Maria Charo Mann, Executive Director of the Women's Business Center, whose leadership has helped so many entrepreneurial women turn their ideas and dreams into success stories.
Their hard work and determination is an important factor in promoting job creativity and economic progress through small businesses in deep South Texas."

The Women's Business Summit is an annual event organized by the Women's Business Center (WBC) - a program of the Southwest Community Investment Corporation (SCI), and a special planning committee. 

The event is geared towards the small business owners here in the valley. It is a day of educational business workshops led by knowledgeable professionals.

This year's theme is "Reinventing Business: Maximizing the Entrepreneur in You." The Summit offers a significant opportunity for small businesses to identify innovative practices, strategies for success, financial literacy, plus leadership and management resources.
