CONGRESSMAN RUBÉN HINOJOSA TO SPEAK AT DEDICATION OF NEW ROBERT R. VELA HIGH SCHOOL IN EDINBURG

*** Saturday, October 13, 2012 @ 10:00- 11:30 a.m. at 801 Canton Road, Edinburg, Texas - Congressman Hinojosa will speak at the Dedication Ceremony for the Robert R. Vela High School.

Named for former Coach Robert Vela, Vela High School becomes Edinburg's fourth high school. According to Vela high school principal Eva Torres, Vela students have already begun participating in summer programs under the Robert Vela High School banner. The school ran an accelerated geometry program, a PSAT/ACT Preparation Program, summer accelerated science program, an ESL camp, and a robotics camp before the school opened.
